Ceanothus arboreus Trewithen Blue is an improved selection orginiating from Trewithen Gardens in Cornwall.  A large shrub to occasionally small tree, with large ovate, glossy, evergreen leaves and masses of deep blue, fragrant flowers, on long panicles, in spring.  A lovely selection and one of the largest Ceanothus.  Easy to grow in a sunny location in most well drained soils. Does not do well in chalky soil.  Use in the garden border, on the patio in containers.  In containers use a good quality, free draining compost and add a controlled release fertiliser to the compost, or feed regularly to ensure the plant performs to its best. Prune after flower as required to control growth.
