Rhododendron hybrida Black Magic
Rhododendron hybrida Roseum Elegans
Symphoricarpos x dor. Magical Sweet
Symphoricarpos originate from North America and Mexico with one species from China. The x doorenbosii hybrids were originally bred in The Hague, Holland, by Mr Doorenbos, one of the greatest Dutch horticulturalists of the 20th Century. Symphoricarpos doorenbosii Magical Sweet is the product of continued breeding and is a very compact plant that produces a mass of small pink flowers in spring, followed in late summer and autumn by an abundance of attractive rose coloured berries. It's highly compact growth makes it ideal for gardens where space is limited or in pots and containers on the patio. When growing in a pot or other container, use a good quality John Innes compost as this plant will be there a long time and peaty types of compost eventually degrade and become too packed and choke the roots. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote pro 8-9 month applied in the early spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year. John Innes is a soils based compost.
